GP Out of Hours Service
Dial 111 to access the GP Out of Hours Service
BrisDoc GP Out of Hours Service provides a fast, friendly and reliable urgent care service to over 900,000 patients across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We operate during the hours that your GP surgery is closed, between 18:30 to 08:00 every weekday, and 24 hours over weekends and Bank Holidays.
Who is the service for?
BrisDoc is a GP Out of Hours urgent care service, which means if you require urgent medical help or advice that cannot wait until your GP surgery re-opens in the morning or after a weekend, you should contact us by dialling 111.
For a medical emergency or life threatening condition you should always dial 999.
By using the NHS 111 service in non-emergency situations instead of dialling 999 or going to your local Emergency Department, you are helping to ease strain on the Emergency Services and helping to speed up the treatment of patients with life threatening conditions.
How to use the service
If you need to see or speak to a GP when your usual surgery is closed you can access our service through the NHS 111 telephone line. The advisors there will take your details and if you have an urgent need for GP advice or treatment they will refer you to our service.
You may be booked for a telephone consultation or a face to face appointment at one of our Primary Care Centres across the region.
For patients who are very ill or house-bound, we also offer a home visiting service. For your peace of mind and security, all our cars are clearly marked and our clinicians all carry identification.
