Meet our leadership team
Dr Ray Montague: BrisDoc Executive Chair
Founded BrisDoc: 2001
Additional roles: Senior Partner at Hillview Family Practice
About: I was brought up on both sides of the Atlantic, and still swim as much as I can. I also love my music and enjoy jazz and blowing my own trumpet. I trained as a GP in Exeter and have been at my practice in Hartcliffe for 24 years. I helped start BrisDoc and remain in awe of how far it has progressed since those simple beginnings.
My mission as Executive Chairman: To enthuse and support everyone throughout the organisation, from the Board of Directors to staff on the front line in the important endeavour of delivering “patient care by people who care”; and to keep throwing in the odd idea every now and then, to keep us on our toes.
Find me: I often do clinical shifts at weekends and am at Osprey Court Head Office most Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons.
Jonathan Pearce: BrisDoc CEO
Joined BrisDoc: 2024
Previously: Leadership roles in health and social care, with a background in journalism, publishing, and law.
About:
I have spent over two decades leading charities and not-for-profit organisations, both in the UK and internationally. My work has focused on strategic development, organisational growth, and modernisation, particularly in communities facing significant health or care challenges. I am deeply committed to reducing health inequalities and improving access to quality healthcare services. Outside of work, I enjoy finding new ways to stay active, whether that’s through exploring the outdoors or discovering a good book to fuel my curiosity.
My mission as CEO:
To drive BrisDoc forward in its mission to provide “patient care by people who care.” My aim is to empower our teams, champion innovative approaches to healthcare delivery, and ensure that our services remain inclusive, sustainable, and of the highest quality.
Find me:
At our Head Office at Osprey Court, working closely with our teams and partners to shape a brighter, healthier future for the communities we serve.
Dr Kathy Ryan: BrisDoc Medical Director

Previously: Clinical Director of Primary Care, Wirral Community NHS Trust
About: I was born and brought up in Merseyside, and have a sharp sense of humour to match. I qualified as a doctor in 1987. I have had a wide range of clinical and non-clinical experience, such as A&E, palliative medicine, community paediatrics and research management.
My mission as Medical Director: My mission is to practise good medicine. Good medicine entails ensuring that the whole system works properly; monitoring and improving care quality and patient experience; and fostering an open learning environment. I seek to enable staff to feel supported and valued.
