A message for our staff
You may have seen the recent media coverage regarding a Covid-19 outbreak at Weston General Hospital. As of yesterday morning, at 8am the hospital has stopped taking admissions, including into its A&E department.
Public Health England is working with the hospital to ensure that all staff that have worked within the hospital since between 5 and 24 May 2020 inclusive are tested so that they can effectively ‘track and trace’ the outbreak.
If any of our colleagues have worked within Weston General Hospital, or visited there on or between those dates, please can you contact your line manager to inform them. For our self-employed colleagues please contact the rota team via brisdoc.sessions@nhs.net.
If you have worked within the hospital, the hospital will contact you to arrange testing. We would ask that you follow the isolation requirements put in place by Public Health England i.e. all staff to be tested and those individuals who are symptomatic to self-isolate in line with national guidance. If you have visited the hospital in any other capacity, we can arrange for you to receive a test whether you are symptomatic or asymptomatic.
If you have any additional queries in relation to this information please contact the workforce team via workforcesupport@brisdoc.org.
