That’s right, BrisDoc’s GP Support Team is one year old! It’s been an eventful year and we are seeing the service grow and become more established month by month.

We have come a long way from our first steps handling admissions and giving advice to GPs on the telephone to now fully functional across all our operational streams including an Advanced Nurse Practitioner service in the Emergency Department and an integrated ambulatory service staffed by GPs and Acute Medics in the new state of the art Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) Unit. We are now taking in excess of 150 calls a week and data already shows that we are making a positive impact.

In the coming year we are looking forward to forging stronger links with GPSU, and together we are hoping to pioneer a new Acute Medicine Diploma for GPs working within Acute Medicine.
