Many of us would have watched on the news, the dramatic cave rescue that took place in the Brecon Beacons in Wales this month – SEE HERE.
Whilst many of us were glued to the news and social media waiting for updates, BrisDoc’s Dr Simon Flower, a Weekday Professional Line GP, was the medic on call for the Mendip Caving Rescue team and was one of the first on scene to help with the rescue mission.
More than 240 people – and at least eight cave rescue teams were involved in the operation. Simon spent over 9 hours underground with the man, who had a number of serious injuries.
Thankfully, the caver is alive and recovering in hospital after his 54-hour ordeal.
Well done to Simon & all the rescue team for your heroics.
