BrisDoc's Community Fund have just approved further financial support to Wellspring to enable them to open the ground floor of the new Health Clinic and move from the current location. The current facilities that the team are working in are very cramped with just two consulting rooms (without wash basins), a corridor which doubles as a treatment room and a small bedded area at the rear of the building.
The BrisDoc Community Fund

Making a difference in the community
The BrisDoc Community Fund began nine years ago when a number of BrisDoc employees united around a desire to do something to help disadvantaged groups within our local community and in the developing world. Since it’s creation, the Community Fund has grown to become a platform to support a wide range of health related charities, both financially and with hands-on voluntary work.
BrisDoc’s Community Fund support can be divided up into three main categories:
- Local health related charities based in Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire
- International Charities, improving the health of third-world communities
- Health related charities supported by our staff members via personal fund raising projects
Get Involved!
There are lots of ways for people to get involved. Whether you want to drop in and tell us about a charitable cause that you are passionate about or maybe you want to join the team on a regular basis and help us decide how we invest our time, energy and money.

In focus: Project Uganda
Over the past 4 years, the BrisDoc Community Fund has been funding an ambitious project to build a brand new Primary Care health centre in Kampala, one of the poorest, most neglected and under resourced areas of Uganda.
As with all ambitions project, we’ve hit a few stumbling blocks along the way, but we are pleased to say building is starting to take shape.
Dr Ray Montague (BrisDoc Chairman) and Dr Mike Taylor (Lead GP from BrisDoc’s Homeless Health Service) made a week-long visit to Kampala back in 2017 to visit the sight and meet the team. Read their fascinating diary account of their time at the Wellsprings project HERE >>
