In January this year, BrisDoc’s Lead Nurse at Charlotte Keel, Liz Turner, donated her kidney to help her nephew Philip. This was his second transplant, his first transplant was age 7. He and his family have received fantastic support from the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Kidney Patient Association for many years. In order to raise awareness of live kidney donation and to support this great charity, Liz will be running two half marathons two weeks apart (Bristol and Bournemouth) in September/October. This is an incredible achievement for someone who has recently recovered from major surgery; we wish her the best of luck on both her runs.
