Thank you to everyone who got involved in organising a Macmillan Coffee Morning in aid of Cancer Support last month. We have heard of a number of events taking place across BrisDoc services.
Congratulations to Sharon Young from Charlotte Keel who bravely did a sky dive over Salisbury plain last month to raise money for Cancer Research UK
Last month, Dr Kimberly Bruce (GP at Northville Family Practice) and BrisDoc's Community Fund organised a screening of the documentary film, Embrace, which follows body image activist Taryn Brumfitt's crusade as she explores the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies.
Congratulations to Val Rodrigues from Broadmead Medical Centre who took part in a Memory Walk in Bristol this month in aid of the Alzheimers Society.
In January this year, BrisDoc's Lead Nurse at Charlotte Keel, Liz Turner, donated her kidney to help her nephew Philip. This was his second transplant, his first transplant was age 7. He and his family have received fantastic support from the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Kidney Patient Association for many years.
Next month, David Carter, our receptionist at Bishopston Medical Practice, will be running in the Great Bristol 10K. He is currently raising money for St Peter's Hospice in memory of his father - Harry - who died in 2009.
