At BrisDoc, we want to make it easier for our staff to seek support for mental health issues. Following on from Mental Health Awareness Week (13th – 19th May 2019), we are pleased to announce the introduction of Mental Health First Aiders across all of our services.

This month we had a visit from two of the project leaders, Dr. Mike Godward and Mrs Beryl Godwood, who gave us an update on the progress of the project.
CONGRATULATIONS to BrisDoc's Executive Chairman, Dr Ray Montague, & BMC's Lead GP, Dr Catherine Maytum, who both received Fellowships of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
On the 2nd of April at 12pm we successfully launched our new SevernSide Integrated Urgent Care service. The new service means BrisDoc now has responsibility for the running of NHS111, which will be provided by Care UK, the 24 hour Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), Primary Care Treatment Centres and Home Visits for patients who need a face to face assessment in the out of hours period.
SevernSide Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) is a new 24/7 NHS Urgent Care Service which combines NHS 111 and GP Out of Hours service. It launches on 2nd April 2019. We will serve patients across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Patients access the service using NHS 111 and NHS 111 online.
BrisDoc's 2018 staff opinion survey was sent out to all employed members of staff across BrisDoc's services.
Thank you to everyone who got involved in organising a Macmillan Coffee Morning in aid of Cancer Support last month. We have heard of a number of events taking place across BrisDoc services.
Congratulations to Sharon Young from Charlotte Keel who bravely did a sky dive over Salisbury plain last month to raise money for Cancer Research UK
Last month, Dr Kimberly Bruce (GP at Northville Family Practice) and BrisDoc's Community Fund organised a screening of the documentary film, Embrace, which follows body image activist Taryn Brumfitt's crusade as she explores the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies.
Congratulations to Val Rodrigues from Broadmead Medical Centre who took part in a Memory Walk in Bristol this month in aid of the Alzheimers Society.
